Reaching Skincare Nirvana

by - 8:00 am

Today I shall be sharing my skincare nirvana with you. That's right. It's a bold claim, but I think I've reached the perfect setup for my current skin. So today is going to be an overview of my set up and then over the next couple of weeks/month I'll give you reviews on each of these products showing you why they're all wonderful!

The picture above shows my setup that I keep out, it's the regular skincare setup I use every day. This includes blemish treatment and mask as well! So click continue reading and enjoy!

First up we have the cleansing, this is actually my favourite step. I go in first with a cotton pad and the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. This is wonderful stuff and I've almost got through my first 400ml bottle (don't worry I have a backup ready!).

I use the cleansing water to remove my makeup and any top layer of dirt. I have very sensitive skin and so makeup wipes never work that great, or harsh tough makeup removers. The main ingredient in this is genuinely just water and there is no perfume in this product.

Secondly, I go in with the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. It's also known as the Hot Cloth Cleanser. I've been using this cleanser for years and it's actually the first one I ever used! So I know it well. This is the 150ml size which is huge! I just take one pump and massage that into my face and then rinse of with the muslin cloths that come with it.

I use both steps in the evening but in the morning I just use the Liz Earle cleanser. The Liz Earle one is more gentle and moisturising whereas the Garnier Micellar Water is mainly for makeup removal.

Treatment and Moisture

Next up is treatments. And so, it makes sense to begin with the Liz Earle Skin Repair Light Moisturiser. I have the Combination/oily version due to my oily t-zone. I used to be awful with moisturiser and was one of those people who thought that oily skin didn't need moisturising. So my poor oily teenage skin didn't get much treatment. I'm trying to make up for that now though using this natural moisturiser. This is a 50ml size and the pump is great for hygiene.

Secondly, I have the Witch Blemish Gel. I discovered this completely by accident. I used to use the Liz Earle roller ball spot treatment as a teen but then lost it and moved on... Recently I had an awful attack from the spot queen and ended up having to search for a solution. Witch Hazel is  always good and I also liked that this one claimed to "dissolve excess oils" and "Deep cleanses by tackling the source of the blemishes". I use this every night on anywhere that needs tackling, but avoid using it on any particularly damaged or broken skin as it can sometimes sting. However it works really well and it does the job without feeling like I've burnt a layer of skin!

Finally, my mask of choice at the moment is the Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask. It's light and just a typical clay mask. I've used some cheaper clay masks in the past but they're always too thick and difficult to remove, this is removed with a circular sponge which is provided in the kit and doesn't dry out my skin. It always feels soft and firm after using this and I go in about 2-3 times a week with it depending on how I feel.

The Body Shop Collection

I found that I had so many products from The Body Shop that they needed their own section! So firstly, this is the Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil. It's extremely moisturising and I love the Vitamin E range. The dropper is great for dispensing the product. I'm not sure if I'll buy this again a second time, but I'm loving it at the moment. I use this every night after cleansing.

Secondly, everyone needs a good lip balm. This is the Born Lippy Strawberry lip balm from the Body Shop and it also tints red. What more could you want?

Finally, the last thing on my list is a body butter. This one is the Chocomania 200ml Deluxe Edition Body Butter. It smells beautiful and is great at moisturising. Plus they last forever. I've tried hundreds of body moisturisers or at least it feels that way, but none do the job like The Body Shop ones do!

I hope you enjoyed that full list of everything I'm currently using! Quick question though, what products are you loving at the moment and are any of my products your holy grail as well?
